Goldust has been campaigning for a WrestleMania 28 Intercontinental Title vs. Career Match against his brother Cody Rhodes. Word from WWE sources is that the idea is at least being considered by officials.
Vince Gives The Nod For Ted DiBiase Push
Vince McMahon has given the nod to Ted DiBiase and he will be getting pushed. McMahon felt DiBiase should be rewarded for his “DiBiase Posse” tailgating parties with fans. The idea with DiBiase and Zack Ryder is to reward those who come up with original ideas to get over.
Mick Foley’s WWE Status
Foley’s status within WWE, producer Brian Gewirtz is a big supporter and feels Foley is creative and a good performer. It’s said that Triple H always buries Foley, thinking he doesn’t look tough enough and people can’t take him serious in the ring.
WWE Looking For New Announcer
WWE has been doing more announcer tryouts lately. Apparently they’re looking at a former Superstar to bring in for commentary.
Kevin Nash to face The Big Show
Kevin Nash will battle Big Show during WWE’s two-event tour of Yokohama, Japan. He will face his longtime rival in a singles match on November 30. The following night, he teams up with The Miz to take on The Big Show and John Cena.
Update on Tough Enough Season 2
Regarding WWE Tough Enough, Steve Austin told Arda Ocal on the Aftermath show this week that he has not heard any word on if the show will return or not. Austin said he would be “extremely flabbergasted and disappointed” if Tough Enough didn’t return for a second
John Morrison responds to John Cena twitter comment about Ryder
John Cena has been putting over Zack Ryder all weekend on Twitter. Here is one of his comments: “Follow @ZackRyder No disrespect to Morrison but @ZackRyder deserves that match at MSG.”
John Morrison replied and said he agreed, proposing a Triple Threat between he, Ryder and Dolph Ziggler. Right after that, Morrison made the following comments:
“You should know better than anyone, sometimes deserve’s got nothing to do with it.”
“No disrespect Cena, but if you really think Zack deserves a match at MSG all you need to do is text your buddy @WWERAWGM and he will get one”
WWE Superstars Canceled
We reported over the weekend that WWE is no longer showing Superstars on its website, and now the WWE.com webcast and former television property “WWE Superstars” has been canceled.
The report states that while the show will no longer air online via WWE.com, or on YouTube, the program will still be broadcast overseas.
WWE Confirms New Cable Channel
WWE confirmed on RAW tonight that their own network will debut in 2012. WWE aired a promo with clips from pay-per-views and other programming, saying “The Channel” will be coming in 2012.
Details on Angle’s arrest and statement
As expected, TNA is not happy with Kurt Angle’s DWI arrest over the weekend in Virginia. Since the incident, Angle hasn’t wrote anything on Twitter except that he was headed to the premiere of “Warrior” this morning.
Angle’s arrest on Sunday came after he was spotted swerving between lanes by another driver on 1-66 East near Linden, Virginia. Virginia State Troopers responded to the call and arrested Angle, taking him to the Warren County Jail where he posted $2,000 bond and was released at 3:31 am. Angle was driving a rental car at the time and it was towed to a local impound lot.
Angle’s attorney Frank Smith issued the following statement to the Wrestling Globe Newsletter:
“We understand that Kurt Angle was pulled over last night for a traffic infraction and/or offense. During the stop, he was asked to submit to a breathalyzer test and passed. We understand Kurt will be entering a plea of not guilty in response to any infractions and/or offenses.”
Madison Rayne Update
Madison Rayne went on Twitter to rest concern over her status with TNA as she has not appeared on IMPACT Wrestling since August 11.
Rayne wrote, “To all who have been asking: I am fine. not injured and still very much/happily employed ;) always have something up my satin glove ;)”
Kevin Nash Doing Another Movie; Affecting WWE?
It is believed that Nash is reportedly signed on to do a new movie project being directed by Steven Soderbergh called “Magic Mike” with co-stars such as Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey.
A tweet and picture posted by Nash earlier today supports what our sources have told us about Nash being rumored to play a male dancer in the film.
WWE Teases 2012 HOF inductees.
The latest issue of WWE Magazine says they have obtained a short list of candidates for induction into next year’s Hall of Fame class and it features past Superstars estranged from WWE.
The Informer wrote in his monthly column: “A trusted source managed to sneak me the short list for the 2012 WWE Hall of Fame, and I can tell you that a lot of old wounds are about to be reopened!”
The Rock Returning to Action at Survivor Series
Advertisements in the New York City area for tickets to the Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden are vaguely centered on The Rock “returning to action” for the first time in “eight years” alongside John Cena.
The Rock last competed in March 2004 at Wrestlemania XX, where he and Mick Foley lost a Handicap Match to Randy Orton, Batista and Ric Flair.
